InConcert! presents Karan Casey, John Doyle & John Williams in concert at 8 p.m., Friday, March 16, 2012, at the Berger Performing Arts Center, 1200 West Speedway Blvd. A power trio representing the best of Irish music, this trio is most of original band Solas together for a special night, just before St. Patrick’s Day. With Karan and John just releasing a superb CD, Exiles Return, this trio with John Williams has rarely played together since early Solas days. John Doyle just released a CD, Shadow and Light, with both superb guitar work and vocals, and John Williams is featured on many cuts.
Karan, from Waterford, Ireland, is widely regarded as one of Ireland’s top vocalists, John Doyle is widely considered one of Ireland’s finest and most dynamic guitarists and vocalists, and John Williams is a virtuoso on many instruments: button accordion, concertina (on which he has won All-Ireland championships), Irish flute, whistle and bodhran.
Reserved seat tickets on sale now online and at Antigone Books and the Folk Shop. Tickets are $25 in advance, $23 seniors and TFTM members, all reserved. Door tickets will be $28, $26 for seniors and members.
